2003–2005 Audi AG TT Coupé 1.8 T 150 Specs & Performance

Audi gave the TT Coupé 1.8 T 150 a more restrained mechanical specification, allowing its distinctive design to remain the main attraction while keeping the drivetrain relatively simple. The 2003–2005 facelift version used a turbocharged 1.8-liter five-valve-per-cylinder inline-four producing 148 hp and 155 lb-ft, with front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission. Its 137-mph top speed and 8.3-second 0–60 mph performance made it an approachable entry point into the TT range.

Behind the rounded exterior was a conventional but well-resolved front-drive chassis, with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion-beam rear suspension. Ventilated front discs and solid rear brakes handled stopping duties, while the 2+2 interior and flexible 9.5–19.1-cubic-foot luggage area gave the compact Coupé useful everyday versatility. The combination of turbocharged flexibility, modest weight and unmistakable styling made this version a good illustration of how Audi could create a distinctive sports coupé without relying on a high-output engine.
